Harry Styles(5): Week of September, 17th 2022

Hello everyone and what’s up, um well it’s been 9 days since this countdown aired, and this post was originally supposed to be out last Sunday, but it got delayed due to circumstances In which I mentioned in a little post the other day(so I won’t go into detail here, but let’s just say I had the scariest moment of my life last week) so this weeks post and it’s contents were actually all written out last week(except for the abyss and this intro) this is the countdown for the 17th of September, and right now it’s the 26th, so I don’t wanna waste a whole lotta time here, Let’s just get into it starting with the exits, which were a grand total of 0, so let’s just get into the countdown.

Biggest jump of the week: Steve Lacy-Bad Habit(+6) Let’s goooooooooooooooooooo!, I am very happy to see this song moving up the countdown a bit faster now. It’s still my favorite song at the moment, and I’d love to see it do really well here. I BITE MY TONGUE ITS A BAD HABIT. It was quite bad though how super freaky girl came on literally right  after this, but oh well though, what am I gonna do about it,

Biggest drop of the week: Ava Max-Maybe your the problem(-6) I’m very happy with the run this has had here, and even though it’s kinda sad to see it fall this week, I’m looking forward to seeing how Million Dollar baby is gonna do here.

Debuts

Wow, an average list of average songs that most of which I can’t remember what they sound like 5 seconds after I listen to them. How great.

Alright so, there was nothing really memorable that was released this week, except for maybe 1 or 2 songs at best, but these are alright I guess. Before we get to them though we got a re-entry from Wrapped around your finger by Post Malone, which is now so surprisingly starting to become a thing. I’m alright with this, as the songs decent. I’ll explain more when it re-enters the countdown though.

First up for our debuts we have Tai Verdes(how lovely) who just dropped his new album HDTV, which I was most certainly not looking forward to after all of his really crappy singles from it showed up on Hitbound than later dropped out, and look at what we have beee, maybe another one of those songs, unless it pulls a Sheluvme and debuts the countdown for like 3 weeks. I mean does anyone really like this guy, come on Hits 1, we could’ve gotten ILLENIUM and Skyler Moore, or Masked Wolf, but you give us this. How splendid. Two Sugars is not actually a bad song though, it’s groovey and Tai sounds pretty good, and it’s actually really catchy. I forget what half of it sounds like though still, so it’s not great, but it’s solid. Alright Tai thank you for blessing our ears with your lovely music(of course I’m being sarcastic) next.

Next we have some guy named Aiden Bisett, with his song called Tripping over air, and this is actually quite good. I love the production and Aiden sounds great. The writing is kinda interesting to. Not really memorable though still. Next.

Next we have an interesting collab between GAYLE and Blackbear called fmk which stand for Fuck, Marry, Kill. This is also good, GAYLE sounds really good here and Blackbear adds a lot to this mix, and they have great chemistry. The writing is alright and the production is uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh good, I guess, I mean I seriously can’t remember what it sounds like(that’s how bad my attention span is these days with new artists and new music) so it’s good, I guess we’ll leave it there.

As for the Hitbound exits we lost, All she wanna do by John Legend and Saweetie and Emotional by Ashe. The former was pretty good, but the latter wasn’t. They need to stop trying to make Ashe a thing, cuz it’s never gonna happen. I don’t really mind these songs leaving, so yeah that’s that.

The abyss

Morgan Wallen-Wasted on you

Drake/Future/Tems-Wait for U

Nessa Barrett-Die First

Benny Blanco/BTS/Smoop Dogg-Bad Decisions

Piitbull/Zac Brown-Can’t stop us now

The Weeknd-Die for you

Sia-Unstoppable

Sofia Carson-Come back home

Macklemore/Windsor-MANIAC

Black eyed peas/Shakira/David Guetta-Don’t you worry

Stephen Sanchez-Until I found you

David Guetta/Bebe Rexha-I’m Good(blue)

Lewis Capaldi-Forget Me

Blurbs

This week was kinda boring honestly.

Worlds Smallest Violin fell 5 spots. I guess I’m alright with that happening, but I’m kinda starting to like this one more, so I also kinda hope it jumps again next week.

How is Betty(Get Money) not doing great here, it’s a banger song that samples another banger song, so how those 2 combined together don’t spell out the word success I’m not so sure, it needs to start jumping big though, or else we’re gonna have some more problems with Hits 1.

It’s once again nice to see Snap moving up another 4 spots. I want this to go far on this countdown, although that’ll probably never happen.

I remembered how vibey Geand was for the first time in a whole week this morning. Why did I ever hate this song again? Also why did it move down 3 spots? I’m fully on board with this becoming a hit now.

Vegas rebounded again, and there’s times where I think I’m starting to get sick of this song because I hear it so much, but I love it and want it to smash, so let’s make that happen please Hits 1.

Don’t let the light go out got a 5 spot boost. Nice to see, even though it’s not really big anywhere else.

Victoria’s Secret dropped 4 spots. That’s good, cuz I don’t think we needed to know her little secret and how the store was made by some old guy who lives in Ohio.

So Good is becoming annoying now, which sucks cuz not only did it rebound into the top 10, but it started off great, so that’s a shame, but If you play and overrate a song too much, I’ll hate it, that’s how I work Hits 1, now get it outta here.

Are they ever gonna let I Ain’t Worried into the top 5.

2 be loved is really really annoying, it shouldn’t be at #3. If this hits #1 next god help me.

Late (or as I will now call it) Lame night talking held onto #1 for the 5th week overall and 4th week in a row. Am I surprised by this? No, do I like it being #1? No, but I’d rather have it there than 2 be loved, but seriously can we let Left and Right just get to #1 please? This song is so overrated and overplayed, and they clout it way too much on their social media’s. Let’s make a nice change next week hopefully with Puth in the #1 spot along with a BTS member, who’s never had a #1 song here.

#1 recommendation for Hits 1: Kygo/Gryffin/Calum Scott-Woke Up In Love

Thanks for reading and I’ll see y’all in the next one,
