Well, what a week I’ve had(This was really scary)
Hello everyone, what’s up? Uh wow, I haven’t posted here in 2 weeks. That’s kinda unlike me, isn’t it? Usually my countdown posts come out every weekend, but of course last week and this week were different, let me explain why,
So as you guys know I’m in collage, and so I might have said that my life would be getting busy, and it has, over the past few weeks I’ve been drowned in schoolwork, but I still make sure to get my posts out on time, even if that means I had to cut some things out. Most people here are probably wondering why I never posted last weeks countdown though, and it’s kinda unfortunate and shocking to say that it wasn’t because of schoolwork, it was actually something way more serious.
Before I get into it though, I’m just gonna state that I’m telling you guys what happened so you guys know, I don’t wanna scare anyone(although I probably will) and it’s completely fine to feel bad for me, as I was pretty scared after this whole ordeal I’ve gone thorough.
Alright, so I had a normal day last Saturday. I got my post for last weeks countdown pretty much almost done, so I listened to a few new songs I wanted to put on my personal chart, while I was home alone(cuz yeah I still live with my parents) and I was having some nice alone time. My parents had gone out shopping, so it was nice to have the house to myself. Later on they got back, and I proceeded to have a pretty normal evening, I watched some collage football and then I went to bed around 11:00, like I normally do.
Here’s the scary part.
I was laying in bed, looking at Instagram and Discord for about an hour, and then my dad went to bed shortly after midnight, which is when I usually go and listen to music. I was about to go listen to The Chainsmokers(like I normally do) when all of a sudden my left arm started feeling all tingly kinda like it was falling asleep. I tried waking it up by moving it, but nothing was working and the sensation wasn’t going away, and within maybe 5 seconds it spread to my left leg, and again I repeat what I had done to stop the tingling sensation, but my arm was then starting to go numb, and it felt like I was being possessed when I moved it, I was really sweaty and anxious at this point, and I knew something was very wrong, so I tried texting my mom, but in the process I dropped my phone(and an F-bomb) and at that point my left arm was almost dysfunctional, so I quickly used my right hand picked up my phone and called my mom from the other side of my house. My mom came, and saw how anxious I was and brought me to the ER, and by the time we got there the weird sensations and numbness had stooped(so about 30-40 minutes) we got into the ER, they brought me back, and then I went through a shit ton of tests to see what was going on. 2 Cat scans, an MRI, and an ultrasound,
In short I was admitted to the hospital and put on oxygen after about 5 hours, and I stayed there for 3 days. I was put on oxygen because my oxygen levels had also dropped, which was scary to think about.
So what happened,
Well 2 days later(so on Tuesday) after being transferred between hospitals, I had a procedure done called a Tras-Esophageal echo(TEE) done which is pretty much an echo of the heart, but it was done by having a probe stuck down my throat(not joking on that actually) so yeah I was knocked out for that and when I woke up very nauseous, it was determined that I had been through a TIA, which in short terms is a very minor stroke, so that’s what has caused my symptoms from last Saturday night. After 3 days I was released from the hospital to go back home(at this point that’s Wednesday) the first 2 days I was really really really tired, so most of the time I slept, but of course because of the circumstances I had to move to because now I have to earn my strength back it’s gonna take some time, but I’m making really great progress actually, and I should bounce back fairly quickly. I think the thing that bothers me the most is that I can’t fully workout yet, and it sucks cuz I love working out the most, and that’s when I love to listen to music. The good thing though is that I don’t have to fully forgo working out for now, as I can still do cardio. I think what scares me the most is the thought that I actually had a stroke, and that I’m only 20 years old(but I’m gonna be 21 in literally about a month from now)
So after me saying all that your probably wondering what the hell caused this, and how I’m doing after it, and to answer those 2 questions, it was caused by a small leak in my heart, and well I’m doing pretty fine actually. I’ve been resting up at home the past few days, and taking medicine, and I feel a lot better now actually. I listened to So Far So Good while I was in the hospital, and after I was released, and it’s made me feel so much better, as well as some other new songs that were released yesterday(mainly the new one from Lil Nas X) the music has really helped destress me, as well as the thought that I’m not alone and that I have faith in God that I’ll be alright, and the really sweet comfort of all my friends and family. In fact I wanna thank the Hits 1 Discord, cuz they helped me out a lot during this whole thing with moving the comments, and just overall sending me some loving messages and making me feel great. I’m really touched by you guys and the kindness y’all have shown me over the past week. I know it was probably rough to hear for you guys, but I see it as a thing that happened for a reason that we’ll never know why exactly.
So what’s my plan from here.
Well, uh I almost had my review of last weeks countdown out when this happened. I was actually delaying it to see what would come out of last weeks survey, but now since some of those songs on the survey debuted this weeks countdown I kinda want to get that post out ASAP, so that I can move onto the next one. With all that being said I’m gonna plan on having last weeks post out either tomorrow or Monday, then later this week I’ll work on a catch-up post, it won’t be a full countdown review, but it will cover the really important stuff(oh and there’s definitely gonna be a big fat rant in there when we get to this weeks hitbound). I was really shocked when I saw what happened on this weeks countdown, but I’ll make sure to go over it all for you guys, I just won’t be listing out the whole thing, so if y’all wanna see a full review please go over to either Zestponds blog or Hippos blog. I’ll try and get that out later this week, and then next week I should be back to full countdown reviews until late October, the last 2 weeks of October might not be full reviews and heres why. The 22bd is my birthday, and I’m gonna be partying that whole day cuz I’m gonna be 21, so there’s never a reason not to party when your that age, and well here we go again with the medical stuff, but I’m actually having surgery on the 28th to patch the leak up in my heart that caused the stroke, so the 29th and 30th I’ll probably be recovering from that, and I’m not quite sure I’ll wanna be reviewing a countdown while recovering from surgery. Other than those 2 weeks though, I’m gonna be back on schedule real soon with the full countdown reviews.
What about my personal charts on CrownNote?
If you guys follow me on CrownNote, I have no chart for this week because of this whole thing, so I’ll just give Bad Habit another week at #1, but I’ll be back charting again this week, and I might skip the chart for the week my surgery is(either that or I’ll backdate that one or get it out early) but pretty much anything that debuts at this point will not be considered for my top 40 songs of 2022. I already am starting to think that I have a pretty good list together, I just have to track a few more songs that are still on the charts and the list should be finalized by thanksgiving. Anything that debuts or hits #1 will most likely carry over into 2023, and yeah that’s how that’ll work.
Uh, alright I think I’ve said enough. I wanted to thank you guys if you read this post though and Discord people thanks for having my back during this week. If you regularly comment here, please feel free to do that again, and make sure to show me some love and support. I’m glad to be back(and more happy to be alive and typing this out) and I look forward to catching up on posting my countdown reviews here in the coming days. Until then though I wanted to say this. Stay safe, be kind, be happy, and be healthy, and I’ll see you guys in the next review.
P.S Recovery So Far So Good 💜😄
