Blogger Summer Madness 2022 

Hello everyone, and welcome to blogger Summer Madness 2022. I’ve had a few people ask me if they wanted to do an event here on my blog, and so I thought I’d do something. I decided either doing a 2021 Countdown extras rankdown, or a tournament style game, and I’m deciding to do the latter because I know some of the songs used in the 2021 Hitbound dropouts rankdown would be used in that other  rankdown also, and I don’t want too many songs overlapping because I know people have already ranked them for one rankdown, so why rank them again if we already know how much everyone likes or dislikes them, so instead I decided this year I’ll be hosting 2022 Blogger Summer madness(since it’ll be done during early Summer) Here’s how it’ll work, everyone will submit 6 songs in a Google form, that will be used in the game. Depending on how many participants there are, there will be a bracket of songs that compete against each other. In each round songs will go head to head, and our votes count to determine whether or not they make it though to the next round. This will continue until the final round where a winner will be crowned. If songs tie for votes we go to a tiebreaker round where there will be a mini rankdown. I will determine what the bracket will look like later on when I find out how many people are participating to figure out what songs will be going against each other, so no need to worry about that. 

For due dates and timing purposes, I will be away April 30th-May 10th and won’t be doing my usual blogging then, so this will take place when I get back. I’ll make the tentative due date for submitting songs on Friday May 13th, so make sure to get your songs in by then. I’m opening this up now because I know people sometimes don’t submit for these things until the last minute and just so I can maximize the participant number. You’ll have more than enough time to submit, but the earlier you submit the  better in case someone else ends up taking one of your songs. This leads me to my next point, please make sure to put lots of extras in case one of your songs gets taken by someone else, there’s a space at the bottom of the form to put extras, so make sure to put them there. Also there will be 2 restrictions on songs. The first is that songs have to have been released between 2020-present, this is to ensure that all songs are at least somewhat current, and to expand the song choices people have, as I know all of us have different tastes in music The second restriction is that you cannot use songs that were used in last years March Madness tournament that was hosted on Belugas blog, so before you submit your songs please go to his blog page from last year to see what songs were used to make sure we have no repeats from last year. 

If you guys have any questions please leave them in the comment section below, and please let me know when you submit, so that I can take a look at your songs and add you to the participant list. 

One last note for anyone who leaves comments anonymously on my blog, y’all can participate, but if you do please either list your name or make up a nickname(e.g, Beluga, or Waffle) so that I don’t get confused on who’s submitting what songs if there’s multiple anonymous people participating.

Alright folks, I have gathered your song submissions and we are ready to begin round 1 of the madness. 

In this round all our #5 and #6 seeds will go up against each other and certain #4 seeds will also be completing for our votes. Just vote which songs you like better, and it’ll be quick and easy. After that I will calculate the results, and the song with the most votes from each matchup will go against out remaining songs not being voted on at the moment.

Results as well as small blurbs will be posted under each song name. I will post the results in a percentage format instead is listing out each person who voted for the song like Beluga did for his tournament because it’s just easier and way less writing for me to do.

Overall great results for round 1, and if your songs didn’t make it through don’t worry, as we all have our #1, #2 and #3 seeds going up against some of these songs in the next round, which is gonna be a huge one. Here are our matchups for this round(note there’s gonna be a lot just because of how many people are participating) in this round the song that won the last round will be going up against our #1-#4 seeds. I was so nervous that I almost changed my #1 seed to I Love U once the album dropped because it came out the same date that songs were to be submitted for this event, but I decided not to replace it since I wanted to keep everything as fair as possible, and I guess that decision paid off well.
