A few announcements

 

Hello everyone, what’s up? I hope y’all are having a great week, as much as I am. I wanted to make a real quick post just to let you guys know that there’s gonna be a few changes around my blog regarding events and posting and things moving forward, so let’s get into what I have to say about everything. 

First off, you guys may or may not know that I’m in collage, and blogging isn’t the only thing going on in my life right now. I just started taking 4 university level classes, and they’re all upper level. I’m a history major, and like all majors it requires a lot of reading, and some writing to, but mostly reading, and I have particularly a hard time with reading just cuz I’m partially blind, so it takes me a while sometimes to read stuff. Do I like it? Sort of, while I don’t necessarily love reading, I think history is a great subject to read about and that’s why I decided to study it, but now that I’m in upper level classes, it might get a bit heavier, so it might take me a bit longer to work on stuff and get things done. I also like spending time with my friends when I can, usually we hang out on Thursday and Friday nights when they’re all off work(thankfully I don’t have a job right now) so finding time for them isn’t too difficult, but sometimes can be, and as you all know I wake up at 6:30AM EST every Saturday to listen to the countdown and start my posts. Usually my posts don’t take too long to write out actually and I get them out on time, but there’s certain things that I think need to be changed about them, so that I can make sure to get them out on time. This needs to be addressed now I think because usually at some point in the Fall my life tends to get crazy, particularly around mid-October, this is because not only do I celebrate my birthday in October, but I have a lot of friends with birthdays around that time, and I also have family that comes to see me usually every weekend starting around that time of the year, so I think sometimes things can get complicated around that time of the year, and not only that, but In early September I also start running a fantasy football league for my friends and family because we’re all big NFL fans, so sometimes I have to pay attention to that, and it’s probably the most fun thing I do with all my friends and family that doesn’t involve going outside my own home either, and sometimes it gets very competitive. It’s not a huge job, but it’s something I always have to pay attention to, and if your into American Football you’d probably understand why a bit better, but let’s just get back to my piping. Life can be hectic, and as much as I don’t want it to be, I have to make some changes here so that I don’t fall behind and cause myself to lose control and stop doing this every week, kinda like what happened to Adrian. I don’t want to follow that path with my blog, especially since I’m pretty new here, and a lot of people have really liked looking at this, and since I helped some people get into the Hits 1 Discord, and I’ve made a lot new friends. I know we don’t know each other in person, but I kinda consider this community as my second family. You guys always seem to understand me and my yeasts in music(even if I have to go on rants about it) and I’d like to thank you guys for that. With this all in mind here are the changes that I’m going to be announcing. 

First off, my one year anniversary is coming up in a few weeks. I plan on doing something for it, and I think it’s either going to be an album review or something I had in mind mind for my 10,000 pageviews special that never happened, where I review my top 10 favorite pop songs of the last decade. I’m not sure why I never did that special, but since it’s been almost a year of me blogging that will kinda go hand in hand with it. 

Next, I will still be reviewing the countdown every weekend, but I’m from now on, I plan on cutting out 2 things I usually put in. The first is countdown and Hitbound rankings, and the second is the 5 solders countdown songs. I’m planning on doing this because I don’t really love ranking the countdown, it’s hard to rank the countdown when your me, just because my opinions are constantly changing about the songs Hits 1 plays, and because there’s so many good songs they play, so it’s sort of hard to decide sometimes what’s better than what. Also, I like keeping track of the number of weeks songs have spent on the countdown, but I don’t really think it’s too important to keep track of the oldest 5 songs on the countdown. Usually it’s not even 5 songs, it’s more than 5, and it can be really confusing sometimes, so if you guys wanna see that stuff please go check out Waffles blog, as he also posts those stats every week, as well as he ranks the countdown in his opinion. Yes I know me and him have very different music tastes, but it doesn’t really matter, as it’s just music, Taking these 2 things out of my posts will allow me to get them out on time, so that o can make sure that I have enough time to do other things. Everything else will remain the same though. 

Next, is going to be the most damning thing I’m going to will ever have to post here, and I told the Hits 1 Discord this I’m advanced, but I’m going to have to put Summer Madness on indefinite hold. There’s just way too much going on with Rankdowns right now and other events, and with all my other added stress that makes it hard for me to focus on Summer Madness. I think the Rankdowns we have right now over on Hrish and ZestPonds blogs are good enough for right now, and I might join one more that Monty is hosting later on, but other than that I probably won’t be doing any other events, although I did see Bubby’s event the other day and plan on doing that. As far as Rankdowns go though, I might be done with those until the 2022 Hitbound dropouts rankdown, so that’s that. I’m sorry I had to come to that decision, but understand that it had to happen at some point. 

Next, (and maybe you’ve noticed this) I haven’t been up to date on posting Spin counts for Hitbound and surveys. I’ve really thought about it, and as much as I love doing that, I don’t think I really need to do that. There’s just no need for it. I check AllAccess and XMPlaylist everyday though, so I can see what’s going up in spins for Hitbound songs, and what songs from the countdown are coming down, also most people here get this stuff from the Hits 1 Discord nowadays, so if you want to see it, please join there. We’re always very active over there, and sometimes I thank myself for that, since I got most of the people in there who are still there today. 

Lastly, I know this is a long way out, but here’s how I plan on doing my year end chart. It’ll pretty much be the top 40 songs on my 2022 CrownNote leaderboard. This is way better than what I did last year, and I love using CrownNote. I know o don’t post those here anymore, but if you want to follow me over there my username is Rockstar trey. You can probably tell that’s a lot of songs, and most are by The Chainsmokers. Fun fact I Love U pulled a Good 4 U and jumped from the bottom to the top on its second week on the chart, and Time Bomb was my first #1 debut of the chart. I’ve got a new #1 and new #2 though that are taking over for Obsessed this week, like I said my music taste changes constantly, so find out what happens this week over on CrownNote, again my username is Rockstar trey.
