Nicky Youre/Dazy(4): Week of August, 13th 2022

Debuts
We’re kicking off this week with a really strange song that is just blowing up everywhere right now, and I have no clue why, it’s called Bad Habit and it’s by some guy named Steve Lacy. This is alright I guess, but nothing special. The production is kinda cool and groovy, and I really like the synths used in the background, they add for a nice sound, but Steve Lacy does not have a great voice. He sounds really weird, but especially in the verses, he just sounds very high pitched and off vocally. The chorus is alright though I guess. The writing is pretty weird to, but it’s very catchy for what it is, and sometimes I’ll admit that I can’t get this out of my head. Decent enough for now, but I can see this getting annoying later on. Next.
For the love of God, why must this next song be here? It’s Fletchers new song called Beckys so hot. I’m not really in love with Fletchers music, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve tried to get into it, but the only song I really ever liked from her was her big hit Undrunk from 3-4 years ago. Her other stuff is just not my type of thing. This song really sounds like something I should like because it’s a pop-punk song, but I just don’t like it. Fletcher sounds horrible here vocally, and has very bad affects on her voice in parts of this song, more specifically the bridge and last chorus, and the production is just not good enough to save it. It’s part trap, and part drum beat, which is nice, but Fletcher just does not fit in well enough here that it makes it unejoyable, the writing is also very weird and kinda girly. Overall not my thing at all. Let’s not make this a thing please.
Next is another really girly song that I want to like, but can’t because it’s way too girly for my taste, it’s by previous Hits 1 to watch Jax and it’s called Victoria’s Secret. The title of this song should automatically tell you that it’s overly girly, and my god it is. Jax sounds great here, and I really enjoy the pop-punk production, but I just do not like the writing here. It’s too girly(like I’ve already said) and I feel like there’s way too much info being presented here. I don’t think we need to hear young woman sing about body issues on radio, I’m sorry but it’s just not appropriate, it’s like radio doesn’t take into consideration that there’s men and children who are gonna hear this shit and be like wtf is this song? Anyways decent song, I just do not like the subject matter. At least it’s by a cool artist who has a great voice though. Next.
Ok, so our last(and actually best) debut is kinda shocking, actually kinda would be an understatement, I’d say very shocking. Somehow Music for a sushi restaurant by Harry Styles made its way out of the abyss. How this happened I have no clue because this song is barely even played on Hits 1, in fact it’s so barely played that when it debuted I had to check XMPlaylist to see how many spins it got over the past 5 days, do you know how many they recorded(keep in mind they probably missed some to) 4, a big whopping 4 spins. Wow, that sure is a lot isn’t it. Despite that little AirPlay to vote ratio though, I’m completely fine with this being here. It is a bit weird, but it’s a really nice anthem that I can see Harry kicking off every show with on tour. The production revolves really nicely, and Harry doesn’t sound that bad over it. The writing is really weird, but kinda catchy at the same time, but it fits the vibe of the song perfectly, and it gives it a really nice flow. Overall not the worst song I’ve heard, a bit weird, but really quite good.
Best countdown debut: Harry Styles-Music for a sushi restaurant
Biggest jump of the week; Ellie Goulding/Big Sean-Easy Lover(+15) This song is really great, and I’ve been trying to get into it more lately, so this is good. I can’t believe it made as huge of a jump as it did, that’s really rare. I hope it stays in the top 10 next week.
Biggest drop of the week: Kate Bush-Running up that hill(-12) Really? I thought people loved this song, come on this should be top 5 by now. Let’s have it bounce back next week please.

Seriously, Hits 1 I did not ask for more of Amelia Moore, just cuz you get rid of 1 of her god awful songs, does not mean you should get another one. This new one is called Love me or leave me alone, and its not nearly as bad as I feel everything, but it’s not that good. The production here legit is kinda cool actually, but the problem is Amelia. Her voice is just not great, and it doesn’t fit this production style very well. The good thing is that she’s not screaming like she was in I feel everything though, so that’s a plus. The writing is decent to, I just wish someone else were singing this instead of her, maybe she should go back to collage for those singing lessons anyone agree? Next.
Next we have the new song(that I’m not 100% sure is a single) off of a Megan thee stallions new surprise album called Her. This is a really cool little rap song. The production is very much like house production, but kinda mixed with a bit of hip hop I guess, so not at all like that stuff that Beyoncé is doing. It’s very nice and bassy. Megan sounds great throughout it, and she’s got some great flow. The lyrics are really catchy to, and you can tell it’s really personal, which is something that I think we need more of in rap songs today, so this is a great start to that. Hopefully this becomes a hit for Her Her Her her. lol.
Next we have previous hits 1 to watch Lil Huddy, or wait now just called Huddy with his new song All the things I hate about you. A lot of people going into this thought this would be a ripoff of 10 things I hate about you I bet, and it kinda is, but it’s less interesting. Huddy sounds great here, and I like the slower rock production, but this a bit forgettable, like I do not remember what the lyrics are now, and I just listened to this last night. Cool song, and it might grow on me, but The eulogy of you and me is much better and more memorable,
Oh God, I most certainly did not ask for more of Nicki Minaj, especially this next song. As you all might know by now, I hate almost anything that’s sexual in mainstream music, and guess what Nicki fucking Minaj decides to drop a sexual song and uh what the fuck send it to radio. What in the actual fuck is her label thinking sending a song of this nature to radio. This is absurd. It’s like WAP 2.0, but not as bad I guess. The Rick James sample of Super freak is cool I guess, but the beat sucks and so does Nicki Minaj’s voice. She’s got the most annoying sounding voice I have ever heard in my life. It sounds like this goo goo ga ga baby type voice that just fits nowhere in the music world. The lyrics are beyond bad for radio, and it just sounds horrible throughout the whole song. Could we not make this a hit please.
Well if Hits 1 can’t seem to be taking my suggestions on EDM songs lately than it’s actually good that they’re picking up one for once(they did put Time Bomb on the Hitbound channel by the way so I’m not gonna bitch any further and just say wow Hits 1 good job) but no, really this next song is actually really good. It’s called Ferrari and it’s by some DJ named James Hype and some singer named Miggy Dela Rose, and this must be getting very popular because I swear I’ve heard this song before on social media, and it’s currently the #1 song on BPM(which is probably the station I should be listening to because I love electronic music, but I don’t so) anyways I like this a lot. The production is quite nice, and it has a nice little buildup and drop. Miggy Dela Rose sounds great here, and the writing is a bit of the Do it to it formula, except for that it’s giving longer breaks for the great instrumental to build up, and the lyrics aren’t just one line being repeated for the whole song, they’re pretty much a chorus and a verse, and they’re really catchy, so I don’t mind. Overall not bad, now LETS NOT FUCK THIS UP AND MAKE IT.A HIT HITS 1(yeah I’m still kinda pissed about I Love U, Don’t forget my love, iPad and all the other EDM songs they’ve fucked over this year, so I hope they can make this one a true hit)
We only lost Drowsy this week, and it would’ve been cool to see them push it, as I’m kinda starting to warm up to it a bit and I might let it debut my chart, but it was also never gonna be a big hit anyways, so it really doesn’t matter.

So just looking at Middle of a breakups placement on this countdown tells me something weird is up with Hits 1, cuz they love Panic at the disco usually, and this is literally 4th in AirPlay as of this morning. I just hope this song doesn’t end up having a really short run here because if they’re gonna start hating on Panic at the Disco like they did with The Chainsmokers then I might as well not listen to hits 1 anymore because that’s another band that they’re infamous for stanning, yet today they can’t move up this damn countdown. Great, oh and by the way I was being sarcastic when I said I might as well stop listening to Hits 1, I just really like Panic at the disco’s music, and I’ve grown into this song a lot, so sorry if I was being a bit dramatic there, but it was just a joke. Moving onto other songs now.
Wow, 2Step got another huge drop this week. I thought this would be gone by now, but I guess we’ll wait until next week to find out.
Stsphen Sanchez, or should I say Stephen Flopchez is starting to move down the countdown at a fast rate now with Until I found you, as it dropped another 4 spots this week, and to think this literally was almost in the top 10 and probably could’ve been in the top 10 3 weeks ago, wow, nice job Hits 1. I still think the song is decent, but a bit boring.
Uh hello Hits 1, why are we letting Don’t you worry fall 4 spots off the debut, this should be jumping big by now. It’s a great song, one of my favorites right now.
I won’t got a nice 9 spot jump this week, and that’s great because I’ve heard this one a lot this week and I’m loving it the more I hear it. I wouldn’t mind it doing well here.
Where did the upward momentum go on Break my soul? Wow now hits 1 can’t even keep the #1 song on the hot 100 from dropping. Really though, this should be higher here as it’s now in the top 10 outside of Hits 1.
I ain’t worried and Vegas both got 6 spot jumps, which is great for both. I had the former stuck in my head earlier and it’s a nice little song, glad to see it doing well.
Bones is starting to fall hard, this song has kinda gotten boring though, so I don’t mind, plus Sharks is much better.
Oh 2 be loved got a 6 spot jump also, it’s so forgettable that I forgot it existed, lol.
Devil doesn’t bargain finally got the big jump it deserves, which I know some people probably won’t be happy about, but I’m a big Alec Benjamin fan, so I’m very happy about this. Let’s make this a hit please because it’s a nice little acoustic song that has the right vibe for radio.
Why is Numb not in the top 10 yet? Come on.
Supermodel dropped to #10. I was expecting that to happen soon since it’s losing traction elsewhere, but come on, I would’ve loved to see this hit the top 5. It’s one of my favorite songs that’s been released this year. Oh well though.
Of course Me, Myself & I has to be annoying and reach the top 10 even though it’s off the survey and now irrelevant, but it has to cuz it’s 5 Seconds of Summer, who cares about this song again?
Looks like So Good might be joining the 7 wonders club if it falls next week, which is pretty much a list of songs that so randomly jump to #7 even though they have crappy AirPlay and then they fall down and/or leave very fast soon after, members of this club include Big energy, Dancing, and of course my song High. Will So Good join this club in full next week. Find out then.
Ok When you’re gone Needs to leave the top 5. I love Mendes, but I’ve heard this song way too many times over the past 4 months, and it’s dead elsewhere, so it needs to stop having its little Who do you love moment and leave now, and let I like you into the top 5.
Woah, I can’t actually believe that Sunroof bounced back to #1. It’s definitely the song of the Summer of 2022 isn’t it? Let’s hope it blocks Late night talking for many weeks to come, I’m so happy that it’s here.
We lost I feel everything, Massive, As it was and Potion. Finally I feel everything is gone, that’s such a huge relief because it’s definitely my worst song of the year. As it was is finally gone to after what felt like an eternity, Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy. It did kinda deserve the 8 weeks it got at #1, but it did get more annoying the more I heard it, kinda like Shivers, although it’s so much better than that song. I expected prion to leave soon since it’s losing traction, so that doesn’t surprise me, although they need to start pushing Obsessed, and Massive is once again in the abyss so.
