Debuts
Alright so we didn’t have as many debuts as I thought we’d have, but the good thing is that the songs that debuted were pretty decent. First we have I hate U from SZA. Now this one isn’t the most interesting song, but I guess it’s alright. SZA sounds pretty good, but the lyrics aren’t really the best I’ve heard, and the production is kinda bland. It’s also very forgettable, like most R&B songs are, so I kinda forget what it sounds like sometimes. Overall not bad, but there’s better songs.
Next we have our latest Hits 1 to watch Sadie Jean with her song WYD now? This song is really good actually. She has mostly a good voice, although it is a bit uh how do I describe it, I guess monotone, but it’s alright here because the production makes up for it, it’s slow, but It evolves in a very nice way as the song progresses, and the writing and lyrics here are really great and their decently catchy. Overall not bad for a one to watch.
Lastly, our highest debut of the week goes to Woman by Doja Cat. This is already so good, and I can see it growing on Me a lot. Doja Cat sounds mostly great here, although she does sound somewhat quiet in her singing verse. She does great during the rest of the song though, and the lyrics are repetitive and catchy. The production is nice and vibey here to, I really like it. Good song, we’ll see if it can grow on Me even more.
Best debut: Sadie Jean-WYD now?
Biggest jump of the week: Juice wrld/Justin Beiber-Wandered to L.A(+6) fuck Yeah! If y’all haven’t seen My personal chart yet, then You should cuz this song has been on top now for the past 3 weeks. I’m so happy it’s doing great here and jumping big this week, but could there be another song that takes this over for My favorite song, uh well it’s undecided as of right now, but there’s some pretty good releases, and pretty good songs to Come let’s just say that, so find out next week if this has some competition coming for it.
Biggest drop of the week: Billie Eilish-Happier than ever(-6) As much as I like this song, it is starting to fade on Me a bit, so I wouldn’t mind it leaving at this point, as it’s just been countdown filler the past few weeks, I’m surprised its stuck around for as it has though. Nice run!

Debuts
Alright so this weeks list of debuts kinda sucked(except for 2) not gonna lie. First we have uhh a song that I’m not even gonna try and type out cuz I’m lazy(oh wait maybe I will anyways cuz You know I want this post to look as neat as possible) it’s called LaSt DaY oN eArTh, and I have no actual clue if I typed that in correctly or not cuz the stylization they used to write this songs title is kinda stupid, it’s actually all written with half capitol letters and half lowercase, but I forget which ones are which. Anyways the song itself really isn’t that great. The production is super obnoxious with the addition of the Horn/Trunpets. Tai Verdes does not sound good here, and the lyrics are just not the type of thing that gets my attention. They’re too repetitive and not the catchiest I’ve heard. It also is very short, and that’s due to the fact that the last 40 or so seconds of it are just the production playing out for an outro, so overall it just seems like a short, boring and lazily produced indie track. I’ll take Let’s go to Hell over this anyway. Next.
Next we have some tiktoker named Jaymes Young on his song titled Infinity. Now I’ve heard a lot of people like this and have used it in their TikToks, but I just don’t get the appeal to it. Jaymes Young does not have a great sounding voice, and I don’t really like the production either, there’s just something about this style of alternative that I don’t like, and I’m not sure what it is about it. Lyrically it’s Okay but I mean there’s nothing special about it either, and overall this doesn’t scream radio to Me. Not really the best song. Next.
Alright so this next one brings Me back to the first Hitbound list I ever reviewed on this blog I think. It’s record player by Daisy the great and AJR. This is becoming a bit popular on Tiktok and is actually starting to gain some traction, so now it makes sense being here. My opinion really hasn’t changed on it actually since it left either. It’s not the best song ever, but definitely not the worst either. I love AJRs contribution here, they sound great in the verses, but it’s Daisy the great that I don’t so much like. They just don’t have the best voices ever, and it sounds like they have affects on their voices a bit. The production is super cool here though, lyrically I don’t really understand what it stands for, but it’s a bit catchy I guess. Like I said not the best, but defiantly not the worst either.
Let’s Go! I’ve been really enjoying this next song, and I’m so happy that it’s here. It’s called Fingers Crossed by Lauren Spencer-Smith. Now somehow I think I recognize this singers name, even though I’ve never heard of her before, and I don’t know why, but I just do, anyways she sounds spectacular on this song, and I really like the nice chill ballad style production. The lyrics are really well written here, and they’re very decently catchy to. Overall will this be My new favorite countdown song,? Uhhhhhhhhh I doubt it, but we’ll see. Great song though nonetheless.
Alright so this next one is pretty cool, it’s a new one from Avril Lavigne and Blackbear called Love it when You hate Me, and it’s on Avrils new upcoming album Love sux. This one was produced by blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, and he did a great job producing it, the drum beats sound great, and the trap parts sound well produced also. Avril sounds really good here, even better than she does In Bite Me, and Blackbear has a really great and catchy verse, and him and Avril do have some great chemistry here, the decision to add him was awesome in my opinion. Lyrically this is super catchy to, overall awesome song.
Alright so our next song is by Maren Morris, and I’ve really liked most of the stuff that she’s released(besides rich) she brought her song The Bones to Hits 1 and radio in 2020, and this is her first release since then. It’s called Circles around this town, and it’s alright, but nothing special. Maren Morris sounds really great here, but the thing I don’t like is the production, it just sounds too much like all of her other songs except for The Bones, it’s not that I don’t love it, but it’s just that it could’ve been a bit less bland and boring than this country beat that we hear on every one of her songs. Lyrically it’s alright to, but again nothing that special. Overall I wouldn’t mind it doing good, but it’s just not the best thing I’ve heard.
Alright so lastly we have some song called I love You so, by some band or group called The Walters. Now this was written and released back in 2014, but it’s just becoming popular now I guess just because of TikTok(why else not) and it’s supposed to be gaining some traction on pop radio this week, so that’s probably why it’s here. After listening to this though I can already say it’s so boring and stupid. I get what this was going for musically, but it’s just too bland for Me to like. The production here sounds bland, and the guys voice doesn’t sound good at all, that stuff all combined really makes it sound like a snooze fest. It just doesn’t scream radio to Me either. Lyrically it’s okay, but I just get distracted with how boring it is to even pay attention to some of the lyrics here, they just don’t catch My attention at all, and they’re most certainly not repetitive or catchy. Overall why does this need to be here again? Oh yeah wait it’s supposed to become a hit, well I hope that doesn’t happen.
As for the the Hitbound exits both it’ll Be Okay and Have mercy are now stuck in the abyss, and we lost More than friends and You problem. Seriously Hits 1, how many 24KGoldn songs do y’all have to get to make 24KGoldn have another hit here, he’s a radio DJ for y’all, so he should be having more hits, but apparently Hits 1 doesn’t agree. As for You problem it was never gonna be big, but I would’ve been alright if it made the countdown, at the same time though I don’t really care.

Blurbs
Hahahahahahahaha. I am woman dropped to the very bottom of the countdown, and yet how many times did I actually hear it this week? A lot actually. Come on Hits don’t even try with this one, we all know it’s not gonna be a hit here.
I’m really surprised that Stay and Who’s in Your head are still here, especially stay since it has been here longer and is the oldest countdown song still, and since it jumped, but unfortunately they’ll probably end up leaving next week.
Ok so I love watching Do it to it, and it’s very creepy sounding squid game intro flop, despite going up in AirPlay. Just watch The Chainsmokers release their new song next week(if they do) and watch it cause After You to leave Hitbound and then after that happens watch it force this song off the countdown, hits 1 just Hates EDM don’t they?
U gurl held, alright don’t care, can we get this lame song out of here please.
Daniel said that Spyder Harrison said a few days ago that Overpass Graffiti is gonna be the next #1, with it rising I’m not sure if I should believe that’s true or not, since it doesn’t have as much AirPlay as it needs to be #1 right now, but let’s just say that I kinda hope it doesn’t happen.
Speaking of the guy who sings Overpass Graffiti, Ed Sheeran holds onto #1 this week with Shivers. This song has now tied the record for most weeks held at #1 with the Jonas brothers song Sucker from 2019, now to an extent I’d like to see if it can break the record, but honestly Sucker is a better song than this, so I kinda hope that this doesn’t break it at the same time. Overall I’m not sure how I’d feel if it broke that record cuz it’s gotten super annoying to listen to already.
As for the exits, Traitor had a great run, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be #1 like Good 4 U was, Male fantasy sucked and was unreleased and was never gonna be popular anyways, so I don’t care that it’s gone, and Sad girlz luv money wasn’t really gonna do anything here anyways, but it’s in the abyss now, so we’ll see what happens with it.
Spyder Harrison also shouted Me out on the countdown after trying to get him to shout Me out for nearly 3 months now. If You missed it he shouts Me out right before he played Ghost on the countdown. Shoutout going to Trey from Jacksonville FL.
#1 recommendation for Hits 1: Joel Corry/Mabel/I wish
Thanks for reading and I’ll see y’all in the next one.
