Ed Sheeran(7): Week of December 4th 2021

 Ed Sheeran(7): Week of December, 3rd 2021

Hey y’all what’s up. I’m getting more excited every day because it’s finally December and that means not only is it Christmas time but it’s also Year-end post time and I can’t wait to share with y’all what songs I loved this year and what songs I hated this year, as well as Hits 1 stats and of course their top 30 of the year. I only have a week left of school so those should be starting to come out next week starting with the worst songs of the year post, and I’m just so excited to be done with school soon(I already got 2 of the 4 classes done) after that I get a month off to relax get the year end stuff out, finish up for the year and just spend some quality time with my friends and family for the holidays. As far as Hits 1 goes the countdown and Hitbound were both pretty good this week(besides a few bad Hitbound debuts) and honestly I’ve been loving these new releases that we’ve got this week in all. We’ve got new ones from some of my favorites like Shawn Mendes, 5 seconds of summer and lots more and it didn’t end up debuting but we’ve got another new post humerus Juice wrld song this one has a feature from none other than Justin Beiber and all in all it’s so good, y’all need to check this one out it’s called Wandered to L.A and it’s out not. One last thing on that note cuz I probably won’t be able to make a post about it but RIP Juice the best rapper of all time 🙏. Anyways this is Hits 1 though so let’s get into it.

Debuts

Life Goes on Re-entered at #22. Why did this have to happen and why did it re-enter so high?

Our only real debut this week is Oh My God from Adele. I still didn’t get the chance to really analyze this lyrically cuz I didn’t really hear it too much this week except for one time I believe. I finally got to get a good listen though  this morning on the countdown, and it’s really good actually. It’s not as good as Easy on Me, but it’s a fun little tune. The production is great and upbeat, I really dig that and Adele sounds good here. Lyrically it’s a bit catchy to. Not bad for an Adele song. I thought it would’ve debuted much higher though.

Best countdown debut: Adele-Oh My God

Biggest jump of the week: Tai Verdes-Let’s go to Hell(+11) this is a nice move. I love seeing it move up because it’s not getting traction elsewhere but here, also I think this is continuing to grow on me, not enough for me to upgrade it this week but maybe next week.

Biggest Drop of the week: Walker Hayes-Fancy like(-9) I’m alright with this as it’s losing traction everywhere else, but I’ll still take this over U Gurl though, so hopefully it can stick around for at least one more week.

Debuts

Alright I was not really thrilled to hear some of these debuts this week but at least the first 2 I like. First we have 2011 from 5 seconds of summer. This is a celebration song for  them being together for 10 years now(didn’t even know they’ve been around for 10 years) anyways this is pretty good. Their vocals are pretty good, and they sound more like a band here than they do in some of their more recent songs Like Old Me and Easier. The production is pretty good and upbeat and lyrically it’s really good. They did a great job writing this. Nice job and happy 10 year anniversary to them.

Alright so if y’all saw my most recent reviews on Instagram from Thursday night You probably noted that I left this next song out intentionally because I was waiting for it to debut Hitbound and also cuz I didn’t think it’d be in my music library over there(it is though) so here we are now with a Shawn Mendes  song called it’ll be Okay. First off just a little blurb to anyone who views my blog or anyone in the blogger community, Shawn Mendes is my favorite artist so almost all of his songs will end up being my favorite song on the countdown or Hitbound. Now if my recommendation for this week had debuted though this automatically would’ve been downgraded to  green but since Hits 1 was stupid and decided to pick up on 2 other way worse songs I guess this’ll have to do for the best song as it really is the best song here. This song is about Shawns recent breakup with Camilla Cabello, and it’s really good. The instrumental is a bit plain but I guess it evolves a bit along the way. Shawn sounds amazing here and I just love how soft spoken his voice is. Lyrically it’s actually pretty catchy to, most of the lyrics rhyme and the ones that don’t just fit in perfectly. I’m really digging this. I’d say it’s way better than summer of Love. It’s not as good as any of his old songs are though. Great song though.

Alright so now we get to the 2 really stupid debuts this week that make no sense. First we have the return of Joshua Bassett, and I really liked his last song Lie Lie Lie that debuted back in January. This new song called Crisis though is just not good. This is just a really bad accustic ballad. The production just doesn’t sound good here and he’s not really the most amazing singer by any means either. He doesn’t sound even remotely good as he did in Lie Lie Lie. Lyrically it’s a bit hard to understand to cuz his voice sounds like it has an accent on it or maybe some vocal filters. Overall not impressed.

Lastly we have some stupid song called I am Women by Emmy Meli. What the fuck is this like literally it’s so bad. Lyrically I understand the appeal but it’s just not good, and it’s really repetitive in an annoying way by just saying I am this or I am that.it just gets really annoying. Her voice isn’t great either, and the production is weird. Overall not my thing I’ll pass.

Best Hitbound debut: Shawn Mendes-It’ll be Okay

Sean Paul/Sia-Dynamite

Anitta/Saweetie-Faking Love

Tate McRae-Feel like shit(radio edit)

Pitbull/Anthony Watts/DJ White Shadow-I feel good

JP Saxe-Soft landing

Everything is still here surprisingly but now Soft landing and Dynamite are added in to since they have spins now. I seriously doubt that Feel like Shit is gonna debut but we’ll see, and on another note why is I feel Good still here. It really should’ve debuted last week. Can I get it from Adele is also off since Oh My God is the next single.

Hitbound songs that make sense being here

Chloe-Have mercy

88Rising/BiBi-The weekend

Trevor Daniel-Alone

GAYLE-abcdefu(radio edit)

Benson Boone-Ghost town

ACRAZE/Cherish-Do it to it

This is mostly the same songs as last week. I’m sure the new Mendes song will go to radio to but as of right now it doesn’t have an add date.

Songs that need to debut to make Hitbound make sense.

Charli XCX-Good days

TWICE-The feels

Blxst/Ty Dolla $ign/Tyga-Chosen

Farruko-Papas

Same songs as last week.

Blurbs

Way 2 sexy fell to #30. Oh well Juice wrld here we come(if hits 1 can even get this song)

The outside jumped a bit this week. That’s good.

I’m kinda shocked Stay is still here.

Industry baby took a big drop this week. Oh well it has a great run here and almost hit #1(if it wasn’t for fucking hits 1s love for Ed Sheeran) That’s what I want is rising though and I’m really starting to love that song.

For tonight looks like it might be heading out soon given that it dropped and since it barely has any AirPlay. We’ll see what happens though.

Smokin out the window jumped to For tonight’s position from last week. Nice to see this rising cuz I like this.

Bite Me jumped. This might be in blue next week we’ll see though.

Need to know is starting to drop. Let’s get this shit outta here.

Message in a bottle jumped. Nice to see it. It’s also now top 5 in AirPlay I’m pretty sure.

Meet me at our spot also continues to jump. Whyyyyyyy.

I’m thinkin that One day might actually become a little hit here as it also got a decent sized Jump up to #12 this week. This is really good considering it isn’t really doing the best elsewhere.

One right now also made a huge jump. Let’s get this into the top 10.

There’s nothing else to really talk about except for Shivers being the most overrated song right now. This is its 7th week at #1. Could we please cut the crap Hits 1 and get either Adele or Lil Nas X into the #1 spot. I’d even be alright with who’s in your head, but seriously this is becoming too overrated now.

As for the exits we lost Memory and Saturday which are both losing traction elsewhere. I’m pretty impressed with Saturday’s run and it will be missed, as for Memory though, yeah I still forget what this sounds like. I’m happy it’s gone.

#1 recommendation for Hits 1: Juice wrld/Justin Beiber-Wandered to L.A( y’all have gotta hear this one it’s amazing, even better than it’ll be Okay or Feel like Shit)

Leave y’all’s comments below with your favorite and least favorite picks.

Thanks for reading and I’ll see y’all in the next one(which should be my top 10 worst songs of the year)
