Debuts
We only have one Debut this week from Drake, future and young thug called Way 2 sexy. I’m a bit surprised this debuted as fast as it did because it showed up this week. I’m a bit surprised young thug didn’t get edited out either because Hits 1 is very anti-young thug in fact they’re anti all of these rappers, so I’m a bit surprised this is even here, but I don’t mind that it is. Future sounds great in the chorus and his verse, drakes does a great job on his verse. Young thug doesn’t sound bad here either. The production here is really good too, it doesn’t sound too minimalistic like most drake songs. Overall not bad I wouldn’t mind if this sticks around and I really hope it does.
I guess that’s the best debut
Biggest Jump of the week; Olivia Rodrigo-Traitor(+12) Nice to see this jump all the way into the top 10. I can see this becoming the next #1 within a few weeks.
Biggest drop of the week: Regard/Troye Sivan/Tate McRae-You(-6) As much as I love this song. It’s the oldest song here and it’s really starting to fade on Hits 1, I’m really glad they kept it around though because I though it would leave after only a month. I’m glad this got some success here, because I feel other stations and the AT40 really screwed this one over.

Monsta X-one day
Drake/Lil Baby-girls want girls
Madison Beer-Reckless
Alesso/Marshmello/James Bay-Chasing stars
Nessa Barrett-I hope your miserable until your dead(Re-Entry)
First we have 2 Re-entries from Another song about Toquilla and I hope your miserable until your dead. I don’t mind that these Re-entered because I like both of them, but the former one isn’t really expected to go to radio or be a hit like the latter one is(which is probably why their picking up on the latter one) so I’m not sure how long it’ll be here for. Also it’s the dumbest name for a song who would name a song Another song about Teqilla? I wouldn’t.
First we have some guy named Sueco with his song paralyzed. I usually like alt Rap or Pop Punk(whatever genre this really is) but this just doesn’t completely do it for me. The buildup and production are great and some of the lyrics are a bit catchy I guess, but Sueco doesn’t sound good here. He doesn’t really fit in with this type of production. This could grow on me but we’ll see.
Next we have our first(and better) debut From Lil Nas X’s new album. This ones called That’s what I want, and it’s pretty good. The lyrics are insanely catchy here and Nas sounds awesome. Production-wise it’s a bit minimalistic but it does a great job keeping the song alive. Overall not bad.
We actually have 2 new songs off Montero this week, and this next one featured Elton John, but I have one question Where the hell is he? When I expected this song to drop I expected Elton to at least have a verse on this, but it sounds like he just produced it or Co-produced it. Anyways, this songs still pretty good. Nas sounds alright here and lyrically it’s ok. The production from Elton John is actually pretty good here though especially the use of the Piano towards the end, I loved that. Overall not bad, but I wish Elton John had an actual verse on this.
Next we have Woman by Doja Cat. This song is way better than Need to know. Doja sounds good in the verses although she doesn’t sound the best in the chorus, but I can deal with that. Lyrically it’s really catchy and production- wise I love this. The beats way better than the one on Need to know. This is a fun song.
Next we have Steal my love by country Duo Dam + Shay. This song is really simple and really great. The guitar sounds very good in the production and it fits nicely here, Dan and Shay sound good and lyrically it’s great. Not much else to say about this.
Our last debut this week comes from The Jonas Brothers with their new song called Who’s in your head. This is pretty good, not as good as leave before you love me, but at least it’s new right. The Jonases sound good vocally, the lyrics are really good and catchy and really pull me in here, and the production is awesome. I wouldn’t mind if this became a hit.
We lost a lot of songs this week. Ghost by Justin Beiber, Cold heart from Elton John, Dua Lipa and PNAU, Justified by Kacy Musgraves, don’t go by Skrillex, Justin Beiber and Don Toliver, change my clothes by Dream and Alex Benjamin and Sheesh! By surfaces and Tai Verdes. For Ghost and Cold heart they’re still getting spins and I heard them a lot this week, so I don’t think they’re gone. As for the rest though they were all good but never destined to become big hits so I don’t really care.
We have a lot of songs in the Hits 1 abyss right now besides Ghost and Cold heart. All of them I actually like. One of them being Heartbreak Anniversary by Giveon, which debuted maybe 5 months ago and still can’t make it to the countdown which is quite sad because I really enjoy that song, the others are Psycbo, Hit it and Transparentsoul. I like these songs to and wish they would debut. Hopefully that’ll happen soon.
Best Hitbound debut- Jonas Brothers-Who’s in your head
Blurbs
I have no hope that any of these bottom 5 songs will do well here, as most of them don’t have a lot of AirPlay, except for I guess I’m in love which had a lot of airplay this week???
How is Rumors still in the bottom 10 it was literally on the top of the AirPlay chart when I checked once this week.
Everything Sucks moved up a bit. I didn’t expect that. It’d be cool if they kept this around for a bit longer because I’d love to see this guy get some success since he’s from my city. It probably won’t be here too much longer though.
A-O-K is back in the top 10. I’m starting to get confused though because they’re playing 2 different versions now the original and the remix with 24Kgoldn. Nice to see it jumping again though.
How is Leave before you love me still at #4 it’s been plummeting in AirPlay all week?
Stay was #1 again which is awesome, and I’m excited to say that this is the first time since last year when Blinding lights hit #1 that Hits 1 and the AT40 have the same #1 song. Can’t say I’m disappointed song is a Jam.
Our only exit was 90s kids. This one did pretty good for a Hits 1 to watch, but it’s time was up as it was getting slightly annoying and overplayed by Hits 1. I’ll give them credit for keeping it around though for so long.
#1 recommendation for hits 1 Olivia Rodrigo-Brutal
