Countdown extra- Surfaces/Tai Verdes-Sheesh

Blurbs

Kicking off at 30 we have Hurricane debuting the countdown, and I usually don’t like Kanye’s music, but this I actually don’t mind. The weeknd sounds amazing here and I love the addition of Lil Baby he sounds pretty good too. Kanye’s verse as a whole is quite long which usually I would care about, but here he does a great job keeping flow and his verse is pretty catchy so it’s not too bad. The production is very dark which I like and it’s a bit minimalistic but it compliments the song quite well I think. Overall I would mind seeing this become a bit.

Next we have Love tonight by Shouse, and this song just isn’t good at all. I like EDM and house but this is the lowest of the low EDM I’ve heard in years. The vocals are the worst part about it easily. No one sounds good here. The production is a bit interesting but I hate the saxophone being used, especially at the end when it’s by itself. I find it creepy and uncomfortable to listen to overall. Not to mention the unedited version is 8 minutes long and no song of that length belongs on radio I believe. Let’s get this outta here.

Next debuting at #28 we have Clinton Kane with I guess I’m in love, and this songs really good actually it grew on me a lot over the past week. Clinton sounds amazing here and while the production is a bit boring it fits the song well. I also love the lyrics here about falling in love it’s the most interesting part about this song compared to his last 2 that were on hits 1,

At 27 we have Halsey with her new-ish song called I am not a woman I’m a god. This song is very solid. It’s easily the best Halsey song production wise. It’s upbeat and a bit cinematic. Which is something you don’t find often in today’s music Halsey sounds good throughout the song although it’s not the best vocal performance she’s done, that would go to her 2019 song graveyard.

Next we easily have one of the worst song on the countdown which is need to know by Doja Cat. This song just flat out shouldn’t be here but of course it is because of TikTok. To start off Doja does not sound good here and she just isn’t a good rapper here overall. The lyrics are way too weird for me to comment on even or to get into them. I Just don’t like flirty sexual music like this, and the beat whole upbeat just doesn’t save it from being horrible, so I’ll pass on this. Next,

Next we have Billie Eilish on Happier than Ever and I like this song. Billie sounds good although she does scream a lot, and I like the rock production. My only concerns with this are that the beginning is boring(but thankfully we have an edit for that) and that the end sounds literally like ear rape and is so annoying other than that I’m cool with this though, and this is one of Billies strongest songs lyrically I feel. It takes a lot to write about someone you hate and literally go off on them like she did in this track.

At #24 we have one of my favorites right now. Rumors from Lizzo and Cardi B. This songs a bop. Lizzo sounds good throughout this and I love her raping in the verses, and cardis verse adds some spice to the mix with her verse, the lyrics are catchy there and it’s easily the best part of the song. The production is great here to upbeat and awesome I escpecoally love the drums in Lizzos second verse. Awesome song.

At #23 we have Vaultboy with everything sucks. Fun fact this guy is from my joke city of Jacksonville Florida, I never actually thought I’d be heating someone from here on the radio but alas we have this. I actually like this. He sounds a bit monotone but the beat really helps his voice fit in here. This is a really simple TikTok style beat but it sounds good with his voice over it. The lyrics are also catchy and good. My only downside is that it should be longer.

Next we have Blackbear at 22 with @ my worst and this songs great. The beat is well produced and he does a great job vocally. The lyrics are also good and catchy. Not much else to say here.

At #21 we have Shawn Mendes and Tainy with Simmer of love. Shawn is my favorite artist actually and this song is pretty good. He sounds good and I love the lyrics they’re so catchy. Tainy didn’t do horrible on production he kept it very minimal but it fits the vibe of the song. Overall not bad.

At #20 we have the queen of pop music right now. Olivia Rodrigo with Traitor. This sounds great, the production really evolves here and I love that buildup. Olivia sounds amazing here to, and while the songs not too catchy I love the lyrics. Overall very good song,

At #19 we have skate by silk sonic. I love this the 70s R&B beat is great and well produced and both Bruno and Anderson Paac sound amazing. Not much else to say here.

Next we have Conan Grey at #18 with people watching, and this is pretty good. Conan sounds decent although at times in the chorus he screams and doesn’t sounds too good. The production is nice, but what really gets me is the lyrics in this one. They’re all catchy and I can easily relate to them as I dork have a love right now but since I do want to find one soon, so these lyrics really do relate to me. Overall not the worst song.

At #17 we have Jax(this is funny because that a nickname for my city) she has 90s kids on the countdown. This songs good but a bit old since it was a previous one to watch, However the song itself is pretty good. Her vocals aren’t bad and I love the beat. The lyrics are really cool though I love all the 90s references especially the sandlot one, because I love that movie and the You’re killin me smalls meme is just so funny, I love that part of the song. Overall it’s old but still good,

Moving onto 16 we have memory by Kane Brown and Blackbear. This is just Okay. Kane Brown really does not do great here as he sings in his lower register which just doesn’t sound good to me. Blackbear does great though with his verse. The production is also pretty good to. This is really forgettable though it’s not something I would listen to and easily get stuck in my head, so overall not horrible but not good either.

Heading into #15 we have Camilla Cabello and Don’t go yet. This is great. I love the Cuban influence here. It really makes the song better. Camilla sounds pretty good here to and the lyrics are a bit affectionate not gonna Lie. Overall this is amazing.

Next we have Walker Hayes with Fancy like. I hated this when it was first on Hitbound but I grew into it since then. It’s really catchy and I actually don’t mind his voice here. The production is very simple, but it’s country so it’s supposed to be simple. My only issue is that I hear it all the time outside of Hits 1 so I think it’s a bit overplayed on TikTok and in commercials but overall not bad.

At #13 we have what’s probably gonna be Hits 1s song of the year. Good 4 u by Olivia Rodrigo which spent 9 weeks on top here. This is getting old, but I still love it. Olivia sounds awesome here and the production is amazing. The alt-pop vibe really fits in with her voice. Lyrically it’s a song that just crushes it to, it has some great and catchy lyrics that really go off on Olivia’s ex and I just love it.

Next we have A-O-K from Tai Verdes. I didn’t like this at first either like Fancy like, but I grew into it. Tai doesn’t sound horrible here and the production is nice, lyrically though I love it’s nice and positive which is something I love, so overall great song.

At #11 we have Arcade by Duncan Laurence and I like this. It’s slow but has a nice buildup in the production. Duncan sounds amazing here, although he does scream a little bit. This is really catchy to. Overall not bad.

We kick off the top 10 with more Doja Cat but this time she brings The Weeknd on You right. Doja doesn’t do bad here vocally like she does on need to know, because she doesn’t really rap much here. The weekend sounds great here to I love his voice. The lyrics are a bit sexual in his verse but I can deal with it here, and I like the R&B beat it fits both artists nicely. Great collab.

At #9 we have one of my favorite songs of the year. You by regard/Troye Sivan/Tate McRae. This is amazing. Regards production is amazing and very upbeat and well produced. Both Troye and Tate don’t sound bad here either. This is a bit old in fact the oldest song on the countdown right now, but I still love it. Thank you Hits 1 for making this have a long run on here.

At #8 is another one of my favorites right now. Beggin by Italian rock band Maneskin. This is also amazing. The production is awesome. I love the rock vibe and it’s something that’s actually a but chill I think, it’s not like hard rock or punk, but it’s very chilled out rock but still pretty good. The guys voice fits in here. I love voices like his, since I like classic rock a bit. Overall amazing.

At #7 we have industry baby by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow. This is great. Nas sounds good here and I love his flow and Jack Harlow doesn’t do bad either his verse is really catchy. The beat is good to especially the horns in the beginning I love it.

At #6 we have Saturday from Twenty one pilots. This is pretty good. I like the production here and Tyler sounds good here. The talking part could’ve been edited out, but I’m alright with it I guess.

Kicking off the top 5 we have The Weeknd with Take my breath. I love this it’s been growing on me since I first heard it. The 80s production is awesome, and easily the best out of all his 80s style songs from last year. This ones not as catchy as blinding lights though. The lyrics are good and meaningful but just not as catchy. Abel sounds good here though as always. Pretty awesome song.

At #4 we have leave before you love me and this ones getting pretty old also, but I still like it. The Jonases sound good here and Marshemllos production is nice and upbeat although a bit generic. This is good but a bit old.

At #3 we have Dua Lipa and love again. I love Dua Lipa and this is no exception. She sounds amazing here. The lyrics are pretty good and catchy and I love the production . It’s nice and upbeat and actually gives me future Nostalgia(haha).

At #2 we have our previous #1 which was Bad habits bu Ed Sheeran. This is really good. Ed sounds great here, and I love the upbeat modern production it sounds awesome although it might be a bit out of his comfort zone. The lyrics are also catchy. I’m glad this hit #1.

And at #1 this week for the first time we have The Kid Laroi and Justin Beiber with Stay. Simply said this is overplayed, but that’s why I love it. Both these guys sound so good here, and the beat is awesome as it’s once again an 80s beat. The thing I love the most here though are the lyrics. They’re so good and they make me think about many people who I’ve actually lost in my life, but have wanted to stay. They’re just so amazing and well written. This right here is a smash. Congrats to both artists on achieving their first #1s on the countdown.

Hitbound

Daisy the great/AJR-Record player

Elton John/Dua Lipa/PNAU-Cold heart

Drake/Lil Baby-Girls want girls

Justin Beiber-Ghost

Kacy Musgraves-Justified

Monsta X-One day

Skrillix/Justin Beiber/Don Toliver-Don’t go

Alesso/Marshmello/James Bay-Chasing stars

Ed Sheeran-Shivers

Dream/Alec Benjamin-Change my clothes

Troye Sivan-Angel Baby

Surfaces/Tai Verdes-Sheesh!

Jackson Wang/internet Money-Drive you home

Madison Beer-Reckless

We start with our first debut of the week from some person named Daisy the great. With her song Record player. She doesn’t sound that great here. The interesting part though is that AJR does the verses on this song, and they don’t sound bad here. If it made this song better I would basically take out Daisy the great and put them in the entire song because they sound really good with this production here. It’s very AJR-ish. This won’t become I’m certain and will drop out probably but I guess it’s decent.

Next we have Elton John with the first single from his new album which comes out on my birthday actually. Cold heart with Dua Lipa produced by PNAU. Let me say I love Elton John, he’s a great lyricist all the lyrics here come from his older songs and well I pretty much like them. I think Dua Lipa sounds really good here to and she really fits in with the beat which is well produced, and it sounds good. I can’t wait to see more of his new album.

Next we have Drake and Lil Baby with girls want girls and this is good. Some of the lyrics are a bit weird in the chorus  but a lot of them are good and catchy. Drake sounds good here and Lil Baby’s verse isn’t bad, the production is minimalistic but it suits the song well. I don’t mind this too much,

Next is Justin Beiber with Ghost and I hear this is already supposed to be released to other stations. Anyways this is really good for Beiber. He sounds really good here and the production is a bit minimalistic but alright, and the lyrics I love they’re great. Overall I wouldn’t mind if this stuck around.

Next we have justified by Kacy Musgraves and this is another one that’s expected to go to radio. I’ve never really been into Kacys music, but she sounds good here although it sounds like she has some affects on her voice. The production is nice and it’s catchy so overall I wouldn’t mind this staying here.

Next we have Monsta X with One day and this is good. The guys here sound good even with their hard to understand accents, and the production is basic bit good. Lyrically it’s catchy to. Overall not bad.

We have yet another song from Justin Beiber on here this one with previous collaborator Skrillex and rapper Don toliver. This is good enough I guess I haven’t really listened to it much, but from what I remember Beiber did more of a rap type vocal style with his vocals which is cool I guess, and Don Toliver didn’t sound bad. Skrillex production was really generic though. Overall I guess it’s good, but it could fade on me to.

Next we have chasing stats from Alesso Marshemllo and James bay and this one was very forgettable. James bay sounds decent here and the lyrics are a bit catchy, but the production is forgettable and very generic. It might grow on me with more listens but right now it’s just decent,

Next we have Ed Sheerans new song called Shuvers, and this is easily the best song on Hitbound. Ed sounds really good here and the song is undeniably catchy. The production is also really cool and I like that it gives off a fall vibe. Overall it’s upbeat it’s fun and very romantic. I love it.

Next we have Dream and Alec Benjamin on Change my clothes I’ve always somehow liked Alec Benjamin’s music his voice sounds like that of  a teenage boy, but his voice is so chill and calm to and that’s what I think here. He does a pretty nice job in the chorus. Dream is a bit monotone here but his voice was easy enough for me to get into. Lyrically this songs really catchy and has meaningful lyrics about wanting to change the world. Production-wise it’s very minimal but kinda builds up I feel as the song keeps playing so it’s not the worst. Overall not bad.

Troye Sivan returns this week with a new single called Angel Baby, and I like this. Troye sounds good, but not as good as he does in You with regard and Tate McRae. The lyrics are a bit catchy here to, but the Angel baby part gets a bit boring to listen to in the chorus. The production is cool though it’s a very romantic 80s type vibe that actually reminds me of a lot of old songs. Overall not bad.

Next we have Sheesh! By surfaces and Tai Verdes. This is awesome. Surfaces just brings the positive energy here lyrically and I love it. The summer time and tropical lyrics are great(I love them because I live in Florida and it’s nice and tropical here all the time) Vocally the guys do alright and Tai Verdes has a good verse. He’s a really good rapper. Overall not bad.

Next we have yet another artist who actually came from my hometown. Internet Moneys leader actually grew up where I live and now he’s got his second song on Hits 1 with Jackson Wang. This ones called drive you home. I like this. It actually has grown on me quite a bit since it debuted Hitbound. Jackson wang has a accent on his voice but it doesn’t really impede too much on his vocals. Internet money did a great job on the beat I love it. This mashup worked quite well.

Last and most certainly least we have Madison Beer re-entering with Reckless. This here is boring and that’s coming from a person who usually likes slow music. It just doesn’t do it for me though. Madison sounds like she has some affects on her voice and the toy box in the production is the weirdest thing ever. The lyrics aren’t even catchy enough for me to get interested in it. Whenever I hear this on Hitbound I just zone out literally. Boring song.

Wow, this community is deserted. Why did I leave all of sudden with no word
