Hey everyone what’s up. This post is coming a bit late because I’ve been really busy all weekend, and on that note I’ll be celebrating my birthday next weekend. My actual birthday is this Friday but I’m going out of town on Saturday just for a day with a few friends to celebrate. I’m not sure I’ll actually be able to listen to the countdown for that reason, but if I don’t I’ll still make sure to find out what happened and I’ll review it all here. Debuts 

Memory Re-entered which is strange because I have not heard it since it left a few weeks ago. We don’t need this here anyways it’s so forgettable. 

Our first actual debut comes from Guveon who’s making his first solo appearance on the countdown with his new song For tonight. This is really good and it’s a bit better than his other song Heartbreak anniversary I’d say. Giveon sounds amazing here and he can really hit high notes well. The production is nice and chill but upbeat at the same time, so I don’t get bored listening to it, and I really like the writing and lyrics here. Not the catchiest song but pretty close. Overall awesome song hopefully it can get some success here. 

Next we have Coldplay and BTS with My universe, and this is really solid. Chris Martin sounds good here, and BTS doesn’t do that bad here actually. They sing in both Korean and English so sometimes you can’t understand what they’re saying, but I’m alright with that because they all sound fine here. The production is really nice here and lyrically it’s pretty good. Great debut. 

Alright here with our first of 2 shitty debuts that both aired the countdown and Hitbound this week???????? The first is called Love nwantiti(new on ti ti) which means small love in whatever the hell language this is in. This is just not good. This guy doesn’t sound good at all here, you can barely tell what he’s saying, and the production doesn’t help out at all. It’s just generic Afro-pop production, and it really doesn’t do a good job holding the song together, so overall I’d prefer if this left sooner rather than later. 

Our last and very very very high debut which shouldn’t have even debuted this high all the way up at #20 after being the countdown extra last week is Meet me at our spot from THE ANXIETY which is a band comprised of boyfriend and girlfriend Willow Smith and Tyler Cole. This song is not good at all for an alternative song, which is a genre I usually love, not for this song though. Willow sounds absolutely awful here, and Tyler Cole doesn’t sound good either. The production is chill, lyrically it’s alright but not really the best either. I’d prefer this not stick around. 

Best countdown debut-Giveon-For tonight 

Biggest jump of the week Lil Nas X-That’s what I want.(+10)  I’m happy this jumped big as I love this song. Hopefully it can be top 10 next week. 

Biggest drop of the week-Marshmello/Jonas Brorhwes-Leage before you love me(-11)  As much as I like this song it’s old and it looks like it’s in its way out probably next week. It had a great countdown run though, and I’m happy to see it got some success.

Debuts 

First up I thought I’d talk about Chasing stars re-entering because I never fully reviewed it before it left I don’t think. I find this song very forgettable at best. James Bay sounds good in some parts, and the lyrics are really good. Production wise though it’s not the best. The drop and breakouts are really weird and don’t sound good at all. The production in the verses sounds good though. I’d rather have this not debut though because I forgot it existed the last time it was on Hitbound. 

Alright now our first real debut is one of the best new songs that was just released. It’s by Adele, and I absolutely love her music, all of her old songs are amazing and so is this one, although this isn’t the best song she’s created, that would be Hello. This is amazing though, the piano ballad production sounds really good and Adele herself sounds amazing here. The lyrics Are really good to and a bit relatable. I expect this to debut soon, and I hope it will. 

Next we have a new song from TikToker Dixie, who Hits 1 just can’t get enough of nowadays. This new song is called The real thing, and it’s decent, but not great. The production in this sounds good, but Dixies voice just doesn’t fit in with it here. Lyrically it’s good though. I feel like I’m gonna forget all about this though because it probably will be another song of hers that just drops out of Hitbound lie Psycho and one whole day. 

Next we have LISA, who’s one of the members of the female K-pop group BLACKPINK with her debut song called MONEY. First off LISA doesn’t sound good at all here, and lyrically I hate this. It’s one of those songs that just talks about money the whole time, and I hate these types of songs. There’s just better topics to sing about than Money or wanting money and that’s what this song is about bragging about having money, so lyrically it sucks. Production wise it’s alright, but at the same time a bit weird. I really hope this doesn’t debut. 

Next we have an unreleased single from Halsey album called Darling. First off I have doubts that this is really gonna debut since his not a single, but we’ll see what happens. This song is really quite good though. The accustom production sounds good and chill, and Halsey does fine vocally. Lyric-wise this is really good to. Overall not bad. 

Next we have some dude named Justus Bennett with his song titled Bad day, and this is straight up garbage. He doesn’t sound good at all vocally, and the lyrics are really toxic and dumb. The production is good, but other than that this is complete shit. 

Finally we have AURORA with her song called Giving into love. This is also not that good. The production is generic and forgettable, and she doesn’t sound good at all here. She also kinda shouts in the chorus which is really annoying. Lyrically it’s alright I guess but just so boring and forgettable. Let’s hope this doesn’t debut. 

As for the Hitbound exits this week we lost 24/5, Hurricane, Don’t be shy, reckless, Get into it(Yuh), Edamame, and Angel baby. Hurricane is in the abyss since it got a lot of AirPlay this week, and on that note I’m surprised that memory re-entered instead of Hurricane debuting. It’s really grown on me all week to so I’d love to see it debut. Don’t be shy should’ve debuted, but it’s not a big hit so I kinda expected to not to, plus Hits 1 for some reason just doesn’t like Tiestos music, so oh well I guess. Reckless should be gone, but I’ll be pissed if it re-enters again, like chasing stars just did. Get into it (Yuh) and edamame I don’t care about so I’m happy they’re gone, and Angel baby should’ve gotten a chance I like that song.

Looking at what happened with justified this week I’d say it’s not gonna stick around too much longer. Oh well it was a good song while it lasted and it will be missed by me. 

Why is way 2 sexy only +1 at 28? I swear Hits 1 has something against all 3 of these rappers which sucks because I quite like this song a lot. 

Looks like both leave before you love me and Good 4 u are both on their way out. It was fun having them on the countdown while they lasted, especially good 4 which is probably gonna be Hits 1s #1 song of the year. 

Paralyzed, Sheesh! Who’s in your head and Beggin all got nice jumps this week, which is good because I like all of them. Hopefully Sheesh! And Beggin stick around. The other 2 I’m not worried about. 

Bad habits took a big drop this week, and I can see it leaving soon. I love this song though and would hate to see it go so fast. It’s has a great run at the top though so nice job done, 

You right dropped which is kinda surprising. 

A-O-K has been holding at #10 for how many weeks now? 

Fancy like dropped. Oh well I guess this song won’t be a top 5 hit like I was hoping it would be. 

Love again dropped also. I really would’ve liked to see this hit #1. 

Shivers is at #6 let’s go for top 5 next week. 

Industry baby made a huge jump into the top 3 which is awesome. 

Cold heart is at #2, and Elton John releases his new album on my birthday which is this Friday. Can this hit #1 at least for a week, and can it be on my birthday weekend. I’ll have to find out. 

Stay is still #1 even though it’s been losing AirPlay all week. I can’t say I’m disappointed though because I love this song. 

As for the exits this week we lost I am not a woman, I’m a God, Arcade, Happier than ever, everything sucks and people watching for a second time. I am not a women, I’m a God was a good song and should’ve gotten more time here, although it’s losing a lot of traction elsewhere. Arcade is also dying out on radio but it has a great run so while it sucks to see it go I’m alright with it I guess. Happier than ever deserved a lot more, and it will be missed. Everything sucks I knew wouldn’t stick around long since it was 1 to watch but it did pretty good here and it was nice to see a local artist of my city land a song on Hits 1 for once. Lastly we lost people watching again and imma bit disappointed and it should’ve done better maybe but it was never destined to become a hit anyways so I guess I’m alright with this. Conan also has a new song called Telepath coming out in 2 weeks also because Hits 1 shared a post about it on their Instagram story a few days ago, so I’m excited to see what that new songs gonna bring. 

#1 recommendation for Hits 1-Coldplay/Selena Gomez-Let somebody go.
