How My year end posts will work
Hello everyone what’s up. I hope y’all are having a great start to your week so far, and I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween over the weekend. I just wanted to make this post to go over how I will conduct my year end posts and lists this year. If you’re here from my Instagram You guys probably know that I do a year end chart every year, and that will be happening this year however I will be expanding my year end stuff since I’m now a part of Blogger, and I just wanted everyone here to know how it will work and my criteria for each list, so without further ado let’s break this down so everyone can understand this a bit easier.
I will be doing 4 year end posts this year these are as follows below.
Year end post #1. My 10 worst songs of 2021
Year end post #2. Ny top 40 biggest and favorite songs of the year.
Year end post #3. Hits 1s top 30 songs of the year.
Year end post #4. Hits 1 stats for the year and awards for the lights over Paris award and the biggest whiff of the year.
Breakdown of each post.
Year end post #1. My 10 worst songs of 2021
This will be exactly what it says. My top 10 worst songs of 2021. This list can include anything I’ve heard in 2021 no matter if it charted on Hits 1, The AT40, the hot 100, or was a Hitbound or AT40 breakout or on the verge track dropout. The only real criteria here is that I had to have listened to the song at least one time from October 2020 to October 2020, and that it has to be highlighted in either red or orange to make the list(I don’t include decent songs for the purposes that they’re not as good to tear apart, and also because a lot of the songs that end up growing on me start off as just decent) I will also include dishonorable mentions for songs that were pretty bad but didn’t quite make the list. Here I’ll basically be tearing apart each song as well as presenting why I hate them and maybe even a few snarky comments in the middle. Some people don’t like seeing me tear apart songs but trust me I think it’s fun and this post is just gonna show how fun it is to hate a song.
Year end post #2. Ny top 40 biggest and favorite songs of the year.
Alright y’all might wanna prepare to digest a lot of info here so let’s just get into it. This will be my top 40 songs of the year(because 30 is too short) now I’ve looked and seen how other bloggers have done this in the past and they do quite a good job, but I’m going to be doing my own top 40 rules this year just for the purposes that I haven’t been on blogger that long, and because I actually didn’t start really listening to Hits 1 until March, as I still listened to AT40 during the first 2 months of the year, so let’s get into some background info on how this chart works and how I’ve done it in the past and will still be doing it this year.
I created the top 40 in 2018 when I would listen to music a lot as I just sat in my house most days(during the summer) and listened to Apple Music. I would keep track of what Hits 1 was picking up on through Adrians old blog, I really liked the majority of the songs they picked up on back then, so because of that I would listen to them, so often I would get different songs stuck in my head and I then decided that for each day I got a specific song stuck in my head it would earn my #1 song if the day title, I’d base it off a 5-day regular work week because that would be when I mainly listened to music. This started in summer of 2018 and by the time I went back to school in august 2018 when I became a Junior in High school I told myself I had to continue this somehow, and that in fact worked out because I’d listen to a pop station on Apple Music on my way to and from school, so I got to discover a lot of songs that weren’t even on Hits 1 that I liked and the chart just continued from there. Towards the end of 2018 I finalized it by adding some extra songs that I just liked, and there was my first chart. Now I know some people are probably confused right now like they’re probably asking what if a song tied for song of the day, Well if songs tie for song of the day, or the week I’d basically enter both of them into the chart at the same time, but the higher position on the chart would go to the song I liked more based on its elements(vocals, lyrics, catchiness and production) and the song with the most weeks at #1 would get my #1 song of the year, and if there was a tie I would decide the positions based off of how I explained it above with the elements of each song. This worked really well in 2018 and 2019, but in 2020 and 2021 not so much, and that’s just cuz the music industry has gone to shit(I mean come on everyone has to agree with that) it’s just because I don’t know the majority of these new artists who are coming into the charts especially on Hits 1, and I don’t particularly find a lot of trendy TikTok songs to be that good this year, and if You ask me in general I just don’t like TikTok, we don’t need it and it’s just not really funny and not good for anything. Here’s the criteria for my top 40 of the year though.
Any song that debuted any show on Hits 1, the AT40, or that I just liked in general is up to be on my top 40 list this year as long as it
1 Was not on the list last year.
2 Was not highlighted in red, Orange or Pink for the posts I do have, unless it grew on me.
3 Any song from last year had to have either debuted the countdown or Hitbound or had to have been charting on either chart from October 2020-October 2021. Any song debuting Hitbound or breakout on AT40 on September 30th 2021 is out.
4 If you see anything that never charted anywhere or was unreleased that’s because I found it on my own and Liked it.
5 Hitbound dropouts can be included as long as I either liked them or if they charted on AT40, if they didn’t chart I had to have personally like them enough for them to be able to get onto this list.
6 Any Hits 1 to watch from October 2020-October 2021 can be included(this mean Going out by Role Model and Paralyzed by Sueco I will consider for this year list, because they debuted either before the deadline to chart last year, or before the deadline thus year(paralyzed))
Those are the requirements for my very very wacky chart. I know it’s the weirdest criteria ever, and I think I’d like to maybe start a Crown note next year if I have time because it would help me keep track of the songs better. If you have any questions about the top 40 or are confused just leave a comment down below and I’ll get back to you.
Year end post #3. Hits 1s top 30 songs of the year.
Basically Hits 1s top 30 songs of the year.
Year end post #4. Hits 1 stats for the year and awards for the lights over Paris award and the biggest whiff of the year.
This will be all the stats for Hits 1 for the year including all #1 songs from the year, biggest jump and drop statistics, Longest and shortest countdown runs and their awards for male and female artists of the year and group of the year. At the end of this post I’ll be awarding my Lights over Paris award to the song that was my favorite Hitbound dropout and also biggest whiff of the year award.
Schedule of posts
The year end posts will come out in the order as follows above that I just explained everything about. The posts will start to Come out in Mid-December but I can’t give y’all an exact schedule of dates yet. My last day of school is December 9th(because I have off on Fridays and because none of my classes have exams or if they do I’ll be exempt from them because of perfect attendance. Yay!) anyways so they’ll start to Come out shortly after that date. Of course I don’t know what I’m doing for Christmas this year but I have rumors that my family could be coming to visit me, so of course I probably won’t be posting much while they visit. I’ll try to get at least the first 2 posts out about a week before Christmas though. The last 2 are gonna be harder to time out though because Christmas is literally the last Saturday of the year this year, and that’s when the top 30 of the year usually come out, plus on top of that they air a weekend countdown that same weekend(making every bloggers job even more hard) of course I’m not really dedicating my Christmas to Hits 1 or this blog though, so I’ll get those posts out when I can probably shortly after Christmas when I have a chance to listen to everything for that weekend. Of course the last one is more of a New Years ever/right after New Years type of post anyways and in the past that’s when I’ve done reviews for Hits 1 stats on my Instagram anyways, so it’ll probably be around New Years or shortly after for that one.
Thank You guys so much for reading, and if You have any questions just leave them down in the comments and I’ll respond to You. I hope y’all found this helpful regarding the year end posts and thank for reading.
Have a great week and see y’all in my next countdown review.
is Jax before the deadline?
ReplyDeleteYes. It debuted way before the deadline since it’s been on Hits 1 since it was the one to watch back in May.
